Dow Corning® 510 fluid is a phenylmethyl polysiloxane silicone fluid with excellent thermal stability, high flash point (525°F / 274°C), low volatility, and radiation resistance (1.7 x 10⁸ rads.) This fluid is available in various standard viscosities between 50 and 30,000 centistokes. Primary uses are: hydraulic arrestors (snubbers), hydraulically actuated valves and instruments used in nuclear plants, and in other applications where radiation exposure exists. Also used as an excellent heat transfer fluid.
