Dow Corning® 710 fluid is a phenylmethyl polysiloxane silicone fluid with excellent thermal stability, high flash point (575°F / 302°C), low volatility, and radiation resistance (1.7 x 108 rads.) This fluid has a low viscosity of 500 cs, but can be blended with 550 fluid to achieve any viscosity between 125 cs and 500cs. Primary uses are: hydraulic arrestors (snubbers), hydraulically actuated valves and instruments used in nuclear plants, and in other applications where radiation exposure exists. Also used as an excellent heat transfer fluid.
